I like fall. I like fall a lot! But I'm not very good at decorating for fall.
The tininess of our apartment does not lend itself to lots of decorating, but I thought that I could do something to our beautiful window.
Enter Fall Leaf Garland.
(not sure if that's the best term for it. Correct me if I am wrong!)
I was really inspired by this one from pinterest.
Since I didn't have any felt, I decided to recreate my own version using scraps of fabric.
I really apologize for my bad picture... sometimes a point and shoot just doesn't cut it.
Hanging in our window and draped around the curtains, it does give the effect of leaves.
My wonderful and supportive husband knew right away what they were. (good guessing honey!)
I tried to choose colors that were "fallish" but gave the whole spectrum of leaves.
On attempt #1, I sewed them together with my machine. The effect was good. I liked them so much, that I decided to make a banner for our door (sorry, no picture). This time, I hand sewed them together with yellow yarn down the middle. It looked more like the pinterest leaves and gave the banner a more whimsy look.
