While I was looking at crafting blogs I came across this. I haven't made it myself, but it was just so cute and easy I wanted to post it!
The tutorial is here. If you're creative, you could do this so many ways! You wouldn't even need a wreath base... think old newspaper, toilet paper/paper towel rolls, and packing tape.
