When we moved into our apartment, we were blessed with a couch! However, it was a horrible one. Only 2 pillows that did not cover the hard back. The fabric was ripping and tearing off of the cushions and it had a horrible texture that left lines across your face when you fell asleep on it.
From our very first days of Korea, I talked about making covers for it.
Well, thanks to my sewing machine at Christmas, I was able to follow through with my threat to the couch.
Finally my friend and I went to the Busan Jin market to buy some fabric. I found some great dark brown suede look alike that was nice and thick. I bought 5 yards (the width was taller than me).
This was the most frustrating project of my life so far! Please, do not ask me to help you make couch covers for a while, I am so burnt out.
I was making my own pattern, and trying to use the existing covers. It was a bad design and I shouldn't have followed it. The fabric was so thick that my pins wouldn't go through it. There was so much fabric that I felt like I was sewing a parachute.
However! Today I achieved success! Please don't ask me to show you the underside of the covers, because I definitely didn't do a great job on them. I was just so eager to have this project finished! Now we have nice couch covers on our cushions, and I don't have to be paranoid about people seeing the big tears in the fabric.
WOw! So great, girl! A couch is such a blessing & you really re-made it!
ReplyDeleteLove it! :)
Hope you have a beautiful week in the Lord!
