I am a horrible drawer. I cannot do proportions, color, you name it. I can't hardly draw a straight line or a circle!
So how can someone be crafty without being able to draw? I learned this wonderful tip from my mother : )
TEMPLATES
In this day of google image, it is so easy to find almost any picture you want. Here is what I usually do:
- Go to google image and type in "(whatever you are searching for) template".
- When you find one that looks good, click on the picture. Is it the right size? Good. If not, you can copy and paste it into a word or ppt document and resize it.
- Tape a piece of white paper to your computer. I have a laptop, so I usually open the screen onto a pillow for support.
- Trace the picture lightly with a pencil (your computer should back light the image).
- Cut out the image you drew and use it as a tracing template!
I do the same thing for fonts!
Open your word document, write what you want to say.
Choose your font and size.
Now, you can do 2 things, either trace the writing and recopy, or tape your final piece of paper to the computer and copy with a marker.
I do this all the time and I love it!
