A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Baby Shower

I mentioned before that last Sunday was a baby shower for a friend. It went sooo awesome and we were able to shower her with things for her new baby. The shower was especially important/special because she is an American who is having her baby in Korea. Although it's not her first, she has nothing from her previous children that she can use since all of her baby stuff is back in the US. It gets more complicated though, because she is leaving Korea 5 months after the baby is born.

Thankfully, the ladies from our church banded together and were able to get her tons of diapers, wipes, creams, and a few necessary big things like a tub and grooming kit. !!

I got so wrapped up (haha) with things going on that I forgot to take good pictures of how we decorated... sorry. Maybe these pictures and my explanation will give you some inspiration anyway.

We played the clothespin game. Classic. I glued little onsies, bottles, and socks to the clothespins to give them a baby feeling.

The parents aren't telling the gender of the baby, so we had a guessing game where you got to pin either a blue mustache (for a boy) or a pink bow (for a girl) and cast your vote.

We were pretty much even.

I know these pictures look bla, but it was really cute in real life. We hung baby clothes from some twine and clothespins and it had a "baby washing day" feel.

In general, (I think) party supplies are rather expensive and very gender specific here. (Baby showers aren't common. Usually you have a big party at the baby's 1st birthday and people give money).
We used what we had, and I think it turned out quite adorable.

You can't really see it in these pictures, but we went with a green theme. Someone had given me 6+ yards of green chiffon (kind of a sea foam color), so I cut it up into strips and ruffled it to make garland. You can also see in the first picture we used lots of other fabrics with green in them to compliment the garland and tablecloth. It kind of ended up having a "baby washing day" feel. Not too fancy, but with a definite baby feel.

Hope you get some inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by!
