Can I show you another thing I got at Daiso?
Aren't they hideously ugly? But, they were only $1 and it would cost me a lot more than that to go to the craft store in our city to get earring making equipment.
Now, I want to tell you about Korean earrings first. They are all bling. And when I say bling, i mean BLING BLING
I don't think I've seen a pair yet that aren't covered in rhinestones or big and gaudy like these.
But... uh... bling is not me. Can you tell?
So I wanted to make something a little less showy.
I got the idea to make button earrings from my GREAT friend Lindsey. She is probably one of the most creative people I have ever met. She made herself a pair of button earrings and I've been jealous ever since.
So......
TADA!
Pretty cute, no?
Soooo much better than those crosses (not that I have anything against crosses.... just those ones : ) )
Here's my favorite part. I don't really want to have to buy new hooks every time I want new earrings. So I attached a small piece of elastic thread to the earring so that I can loop it onto the hook and have interchangeable earrings. Sweet!
Thanks for stopping by!

Those cross earrings are a little too bling bling, for sure!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the button earrings! So inventive!
This post made me smile. Thanks for inspiring me and many others to even attempt this feat. Really appreciate that you linked up at the Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop.
ReplyDeletePretty cute! And I agree about the Korean jewelry bling. If you're lucky to find them... they sometimes come in smaller, cuter... errr... blings.
ReplyDeleteThe buttons are so cute! (I have to agree, I wouldn't wear those crosses either!)
