It's baby mania over here!

Ok, maybe it's not that bad, but I do have baby on the brain! (Just ask my hubby. I am sure he is sick of hearing about every little baby thing.)
But, baby on the brain means that I've been getting some things made! Yay! I feel like I'm finally coming out of the I-need-to-sleep-all-the-time stage and I actually have some energy and motivation in the evenings.
The first thing I did was grab some old T-shirts and some really fun flannel fabric and make burp cloths. I can't find cloth diapers anywhere, so I was looking for a good absorbent material to substitute. The T-shirts work great!
I made rectangles that are the perfect size to fit over the shoulder, or under the baby's head, or wherever they need to go.
The other thing I finally finished were some receiving blankets. My mom brought this ADORABLE fabric when she came for a visit at Christmas. I really wish I could find stuff this cute here!
And since I really hate to hem things, I decided to finish them all with bias tape. If you look really closely you can see that my bias tape colors are purple and brown, which don't really go with the blankets, but it's the fabric colors I had on hand.
And here's where I'm starting to collect baby stuff! AAAHHH! kind of scary.
Thanks for stopping by! Be prepared for more baby mania as we get closer!

These look awesome! I so wish that I could sew! My little guy could use such cute burp cloths.

Great job! Just curious - was the receiving blanket fabric stretchy? I have had 2 spring/summer babies, and I'm due with my 3rd this winter, so I'm a little out of my depth as far as snuggly things go. Thanks for making creating things for babies look totally do-able. :)
