I have really, really, really wanted some lace earrings for a long time. I think I've mentioned before, but I'm not a huge earring wearer. Bling is just not my thing. But lace! Lace I can do. I had some old pieces of lacy stuff lying around, so here is how I turned it into some earrings : )
1. Find some lace
2. Cut out some pieces you want.
3. Trim them up so they look really nice.
4. Mix some glue in some water. Don't make it too thin.
5. Soak your pieces of lace in the glue for about 15 minutes.
6. Let the glue-soaked lace dry. Mine took about 36 hours to air dry (the lace was thick), or your could use a hair dryer to speed up the process.
7. Get some dangley earring hooks and attach dried lace to hooks. I used white thread because that is all I had. You could use chains, wire, fishing line, whatever you have on hand.
TADA! Now you have some very pretty lace earrings!
Great job! Thanks for linking up with Lemon Tree today!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely pair of earrings...i though that I had to learn to crochet just to make a pair, now I can relax and have a look at our local thrift shop for laced fabric. Thanks for the great idea!
