A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Elastic Thread!!!

For the past 2-3 weeks I have been pouring over blogs looking for ways to use Elastic Thread. On Wednesday my wonderful hubby found some online and bought it for me. Isn't he amazing?!
Anyway, last night I made my first project, and I have to say, this stuff is amazing!

I learned that it is very important to put the elastic thread in your bobbin, not use as the top stitch. Instead of spooling the bobbin like you normally would, you have to hand wind your bobbin.

Ok, so if you were in the Epik August 2010 orientation, you know how horrible our shirts were. You will probably never wear them again, and neither will we. So what should you do with them?
Turn it into a skirt!

I took the ugly shirt...
And pinned the length I wanted so I knew where to cut.

I cut both John and my shirts and sewed them together so that they would be big enough to fit around my hips (I've got a large tush).

Then I sewed along the top edge with the elastic thread in my bobbin! See how it's gathering nicely?

I sewed about 7 rows and then ironed.

TADA! New skirt! Sorry the picture looks kind of funny. It was cold so I have my leggings on. It looks much better in real life : )
