A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Shower Curtain Stenciling

I really, really wanted to do this awesome freezer paper stenciling. However, I live in Korea... Have you seen freezer paper in Korea? Me either. I even went to look!

So, what do you do when there is no freezer paper? You improvise!!!

I tried some kind of waxy baking paper.

I tried plastic bags.      Almost, but no go.

I tried an old ripped up shower curtain that my husband used to sled during the freak snow storm.

Success!!!!

Here's how it went, and how you can do it too!

You will need these thing.

A CLEAR shower curtain. (It's very important to have a clear one, because the color will come off onto your fabric.

Fabric paint. I found some at JiSeung at PNU in Busan. The one on the right even has directions in English!

An iron.

Some kind of paper. Here I used my failed baking paper. It worked really well, but you can use anything.

Here's what you do
Cut out a piece of your shower curtain. See the blue? Make sure you cut that off so it doesn't stain your fabric.

Cut out the shape you want to stencil and put it on your fabric.

Cover the shower curtain stencil with your paper.

Iron for a few seconds. You want the shower curtain to melt.
Let the fabric and stencil cool down before painting!

Carefully peel the paper off. The stencil will probably stick to the paper, so be careful.
After ironing, you're stencil should look like this. It should be stuck really well to the fabric.

Fill in your stencil with fabric paint. I used a Q-tip and it worked wonderfully.

Gently peel the stencil off of the fabric. Be careful not to smudge the paint!

TADA!

I also made this one with the inside of my heart.

The great thing about these stencils is that they are REUSABLE.

Just cover them with paper and iron again and again!

Some things to know.
1. In order for the pain to cure, iron it for a few minutes after it dries.
2. Be careful with the used stencil if you want to use it over because it will rip easily.
3. My husband found this shower curtain for under 10,000W. Just think of how many stencils you could make out of that!
4. For ideas on what to  make, just google "freezer paper stenciling"

Have fun!
