Something VERY few people know: I took karate as a kid and got to my brown belt (when someone tried to grab my purse a few years later, I still screamed like a girl and ran away)

Do I have to pick one? I'll rather make a short summary - koreans not believing that my feet are as big as they are (and sticking their hands in the back of my shoes to make sure I'm not lying (I'm tall, ok..); shop assistants following me at a, way to close for comfort distance, through their small cubicle shops; misunderstandings that lead to me taking home the wrong thing or WAY too much of something that I wanted one of. BUT I love my shopping experiences and they make every outing an adventure!

괜찮아요. Kwenchanayo - its the first phrase I needed to use when I was in Korea - and its probably the one I've used the most. "It's ok/I'm ok/Are you ok?
What advice would you give another homemaker in Korea?
If you are determined (or desperate) enough you can find or make an alternative to the thing that you need for your recipe or craft project. And be grateful - you will leave Korea way more creative and resourceful if you don't give up.
