Hello! :) My name is Abigail Jasmine Boyle, and I’m from Viola, Illinois. A small town girl now in the big city of South Korea!
How long have you lived in Korea?I have been here in the land of the morning calm for one full year, and now am back for another round! Last year we lived in Busan, but this year we are now in Gimhae!
What do you do in your spare time?I love spending with my husband, and my family that live here in Korea too; my brother in law Pat, and sister in law Jessica. I also love exploring, being out in nature, taking photographs, making art and volunteering.
What is some interesting trivia about you?The man who lead me to the Lord is my husband!
What is your favorite blog to follow?I love “Walk Slowly Live Wildly” ~ http://walkslowlylivewildly.com/
It’s full of all the good stuff; Jesus, art and inspiration!
What is your favorite thing to cook?I love making Mexican food! I enjoy splurging on avocados once in a while and making guacamole, as well as using cilantro found from the foreign foods market for pico de gallo!
What is your easy “go to” dinner?Indian food! I stocked up on Indian spices while I was at home to bring back to Korea, so whipping up some jalfrezi and saag paneer is fun and delicious!
What is your favorite part of your house? The rooftop! During the warm months, it’s my second home! I love rising early to have some quiet time with the Lord there, hanging my laundry to dry, keeping a little garden and sun bathing! The view from the rooftop is also so beautiful with the mountains surrounding, it’s a place of quiet rest and peace for me.
What do you miss the most from your home country? All my loved ones and health food stores!
What is your blog?I love blogging!

Describe your worst shopping experience in Korea.I am a bargain shopper and one who loves second-hand stores. One day as I was walking around, I wanted to stop in second hand store, I had never been in before. Well, I ended up entering the make shift plastic door all wrong and breaking it completely! The lady running the store wasn’t too excited I had decided to visit her little shop that day! I got a little flustered, made a quick purchase and zoomed out of there!
What is your favorite Korean dish?I love “Pot-Bing-Soo” It’s a yummy dish served in the summer! It’s ice cream, corn flakes, ice shavings, fruit, some type of jello, whipped cream, and red beans! May sound funky, but oh so good!
What advice would you give another homemaker in Korea?Don’t get overwhelmed by what you can’t do or can’t find, but rather be thankful and work with what ya got! It is a challenge here, but also a great stretch in growing in skills of homemaking, being creative and living frugal. I think the lessons in homemaking I would have learned in the years to come, I have been forced to learn while here in Korea
