So, I've temporarily lost my camera. It's sitting somewhere around our apartment, I just don't have the energy right now to go find it. I'm saying this because my pictures aren't the greatest. I had to take them on our new Xoom.
Sorry 'bout that.
Anyway, I thought I'd share with you what I did with my hair the other day. I am NOT a big fan of doing hair. If you ask my mom, I pretty much didn't even let her brush it until I was 8. Usually it goes in a ponytail and my bangs get pinned off to the side. I bet it's that ballerina side of me.
Not that this is who I want to be. I adore any Anne of Green Gables style hair. I just don't have the patience.
But today I actually did something with my hair! Do you like it?
I did a few french braids, tied it off with a hair tie and pinned a bun at the base of my neck.
Then I wrapped a long piece of ribbon around my head a couple of times and tied it in a nice bow under my bun. This was my favorite way to wear ribbons when I was in high school.
Speaking of hair and braids and all, let me give you an update on my shampoo/conditionerless adventure!
It's going ok.
I've learned how to was and rinse my hair, so it no longer smells like vinegar all the time.
Here is what I LIKE:
I only have to wash it every 3 days.
My head/scalp does NOT itch all the time
My hair feels healthy
I've had some skin trouble around my hair line (especially in the summer), but I haven't had a problem yet!
My hair shows it's true color more
Here is what I DON'T like:
My hair is dry
My hair is limp
My hair is frizzy
My hair won't curl
I can't get out of the shower and let my hair air dry
After doing some research I decided that the problem is that my hair isn't getting conditioned enough. The vinegar is suppose to condition the hair, but it's still too dry (the whole strand acts crunchy and straight when you grab it. It's not, but it acts that way). So I've found a natural way to condition it. Mayonnaise. Apparently if you leave mayo in your hair for 20-30 minutes before you wash it, it helps to deep condition. I'm hoping to be able to do this once a week and my hair will be good... I hope.
Look for a post soon about how my Mayo experiment goes!
Your hair looks so cute like that! I'm gonna have to try this no-poo thing!!!
