Yesterday I put mayonnaise in my hair as a conditioner, left it in for 20 minutes, and washed my hair normally with baking soda and vinegar. I DO NOT like the results. I must have used too much mayo or something.
This is my hair after it dried.
It's stringy.
Do you remember when it was really popular to have crunchy wavy hair? That's what it was like. And it felt kind of oily too. I don't think that the baking soda washed out the mayo in the longer part of my hair. If you look at the top of my head, it looks ok. The first few inches is exactly what I wanted, but then it is just a mess.
My scalp turned out nice and shiny (a little frizzy) but otherwise good.
Not trying the mayo again. Even after running my fingers through my hair nothing would separate the curls and make them softer.
After this washes out, I'm going to try an egg-yogurt-olive oil mixture. Hopefully it won't be as clingy as the mayo.
