A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Pleated Skirt

I feel terrible about my posting situation. Here's the deal. I am super busy. I'm working all day, and every night but Friday is booked. Bla... it leaves basically no time for any kind of creating. Even my Saturdays have been full! And the few minutes I do have free I spend with my hubby, or just crashing. So, I'm not taking a break, but I may not have something to post every day : (

I do have a couple of projects that I've finished but haven't had time to post about yet. This is one of them

My Pleated Skirt

Sorry the pictures aren't great!
This is some of the fabric that I found at the market for CHEAP. And it is the most amazing cotton I have ever seen.

I totally cheated on this skirt and just made it out of two rectangles of fabric. I know, I should have put in a waste band... dont' judge. I actually wanted to make it one way, but that failed so I had to change my design. This is what resulted : ) I like it. I think it's cute.

It was my first time doing pleats, so I think they turned out ok, but I'm not thrilled.
I also ended up putting in a hidden zipper, but it's so not hidden that I didn't even want to show a picture of it!

This is the back. It's wrinkly because I wore it all day... (not to self, take pictures before the item is "lived in")

And a body shot. TADA!

I wore this yesterday, and between the skirt and my hair, which I double braided down the side and put in a bun, I looked very 1950s. My hubby told me all I needed was a little apron and I'd be set!

Thanks for stopping by!
